Listen to Prayer For The Ancient Trees
The Lummi Indian Nation was engaged in a legal struggle to prevent an old growth forest from being logged. Finally, after nothing seemed to work, Cha-das-ska-dum went into the mountains to a place called Thompkins Creek where he played his drum and prayed for the ancient trees. He gave his trust to the Great Spirit and Mother Earth that somehow this ancient forest would be preserved. It has been a long time since he first sand this song, and to this day, those trees are still standing.
